Chiang Mai was founded in 1296, and is located in a fertile valley some 300 meters above Sea level Chiang Mai was the capital of Lanna Thai (Kingdom of One Million Rice fields), the first independent Thai kingdom within the fabled Golden Triangle. Chiang Mai flourished as a major religious, cultural and trading center until 1556 when a Burmese invasion reduced it to a vassal state. The Burmese were expelled in 1785, whereupon Lanna Thai once again became part of northern Thailand.

Chiang Mai located 700 kilometers North of Bangkok. Day 1: Flight to Chiang Rai

• Transfer from hotel to Suvarnabhumi Airport

• Upon arrival at Chiang Rai Airport, transfer and start a tour by visiting;

Wat Phra Kaew, is famous throughout Thailand as the original home of the translucent green Buddha which graces the Emerald Buddha Temple in Bangkok’s Grand Palace. The small selection on display is beautifully arranged to illustrate many aspects of religious art in Lanna over hundreds of years.

Wat Rong Khun, this temple is different from any other temple in Thailand, as it has been constructed entirely in a radiant white color with sparking reflections from mirrored glass mosaics embedded in the white plaster.

The Black House, the complex was built and designed by the Thai National Artist Thawan Duchanee in a variety of styles, but most have been made with the colour black predominant. Each building is supplied art exhibitions to show his identity explicitly including wood carvings, art from his cattle, buffalo, buffalo horn, bone, tiger art work placement magnificent wood carvings, ornate stucco work art that comes with philosophy etc.

Hill-tribe Village, by log-tail boat about 50 minutes to upstream Mae Kok into the village, along the way you will visit the beauty of nature and breathe in the fresh air in addition, through the villages of hill tribes such as the Akha, Lahu, Yao, Karen and to see the culture of the tribes with traditions.

• In the evening, drive back to Chiang Rai City and continue to hotel for check-in

Day 3: Doi Suthep Temple and Home Industries

• 09.30:  Pick up from hotel for half day tour of Doi Suthep Temple and Home Industries

Doi Suthep Temple is the most important places of the city, 1000 meters above sea level. The pagoda was built in year 1348 which is the combination of Chiang Saen and Lanna style

Home Industries; Sankampang, major center for quality handicrafts, the artisans produce an extraordinary range of quality products which are in variably, wood carving, silverware, lacquerware, leather, pottery, furniture, silk & cottons

Bo Sang, the Umbrella village that has for hundreds of years, most people has the aptitude to do umbrella, especially the drainage pattern and colorful is considered the most famous symbol

• Transfer back to hotel and free time in the afternoon

• Overnight at Chiang Mai

Day 4: Elephant Safari

 

• Breakfast at hotel

• 08.30:  Pick up from hotel for full day of Full day tour of Elephant Safari and bamboo rafting;

→ Watch a herd of elephant taking a bath in mountain steam and brief demonstration how this great beast work in remote jungle then take experience ridding on elephant about 1 hour,

• Lunch at restaurant

• After lunch embark on bamboo raft, float down River Ping

• Then trip continue to orchid farm and back to hotel around 17.00 hour

• Overnight at Chiang Mai

Day 5: Flight to Bangkok

Wat Chedi Luang, the large historic site of Chiang Saen, was built by the mid 19th century. This historical site consists of bell shaped chedi in Lanna style which is the largest pagoda in Chiang Saen.

Golden Triangle, it is triangular area converge of the three countries, including Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, this area used to have the opium trade in exchange for gold but today it is a major source of transportation in this part of Thailand.

Mae Sai, is border to Myanmar which has a bridge connecting the two cities together. Both Karen and Burmese come to trade freely. Visitors can travel to shop native and other cheap goods such as soap basket, brass Burma, herbal cigarettes etc.

Mae Kha-Jan Hot Spring, there are three natural spring wells. Each pond is about 3 meters wide with temperatures around 80 degrees can be cooked eggs within three minutes and also have private mineral baths that connect from the hot springs.

• Then continue to Chiang Mai which arrival approximately around 19.00 pm
